New Monogram Hearth Oven, Inspired by Industry Experts, Passionate Consumers

by Olly Mason

This year’s KBIS event hosted an impressive collection of groundbreaking appliances that left an impression on over 60,000 professional builders and designers who frequent the show every year. It takes a lot to stand out during this summit, where judges tally up the best of the best in kitchen and bath design, but once again, Monogram created a spark with its innovative designs and performance.

One of this year’s hottest exhibitions was the Monogram 30” Smart Hearth Oven, a redesign of Monogram’s first 30” hearth oven, which first hit the scene back in 2019. As seen at KBIS 2022, version 2.0 promises restaurant-grade power and precision with a high-end design that will whet the appetites of food lovers with an appliance that’s the first of its kind on the market.

Firepower Without the Flame

Restaurants know porterhouse steaks and pizzas with perfect crusts require a lot of heat, and usually, that means the intensity of a wood-burning stove. And that’s why it’s so hard to recreate these dishes at home — it’s simply not safe for the regular kitchen house to so much heat.

That’s the brilliance of the latest Monogram 30” hearth oven. Through state-of-the-art engineering, the high-end kitchen brand uses special electric heating zones with high temperatures for edge-to-edge output that is comparable to a live flame. But since no fire is involved in the process, these specialty ovens are safe to use in domestic kitchens with virtually no smoke (we’ll discuss why) and without turning the kitchen into an inferno.

There are two heating elements that work in harmony replicate wood-burning hearths. The upper heating element reaches a blazing 800° to crisp skin and crumb toppings, or heat cheesy toppings to the perfect, gooey consistency. Below, the heating element goes even further with up to 1,300° of output — ideal for golden crusts on and mahogany sears.

But it’s not all about high temperatures. This is a dynamic hearth oven that is capable of low-temp bakes, too.

  • 750°F+ for pizzas and naan
  • 540–600°F for grilling steaks and shrimp
  • 450–540°F for roasting birds, vegetables, and coastal seafood recipes
  • 400–450°F for artisanal breads from around the world
  • 320 –400°F for desserts and pastries
  • 210–250°F for slow-cooking pulled pork, BBQ, and stews

Premium Design

Monogram specializes in winning styles, even taking home the Architectural Digest Great Design Award for its series of professional ranges in 2021. The rest of its luxury kitchen products follow suit, including its latest hearth oven.

Like the older model (which you can learn more about in this Four Point Monogram kitchen design featured below), this Monogram oven features a handcrafted approach in a timeless brushed stainless-steel finish.

Like the original model, the Monogram ZEP30FRSS also installs flush with kitchen cabinets for a professional, low-profile look. It also features a sleek LCD control panel with easy-to-read digital displays. The hearth can even be installed adjacent to a matching Monogram appliance or stacked for a customized figuration that fits kitchens of virtually every layout using just the space of a 30” cutout.

But what separates this home hearth oven from the others is its built-in ventilation. In fact, it’s the first of its kind on the market that doesn’t require ductwork, and that’s a huge incentive.

  1. Built-in ventilation means you can cook in a comfortable kitchen environment with minimal to no smoke.
  2. No ductwork allows this hearth to be installed in practically any kitchen with ease.
  3. All that’s needed to power the Monogram ZEP30FRSS is a 240-volt outlet.
