Happy Memorial Day!
The entire Grand family is eternally grateful to the brave American heroes that fought for our country’s freedom and celebrate your lives and commitment on this important national holiday.
In fact, we’re committed to honoring our country’s veterans all year long through the GRAND Foundation.
In the past 12 months, the Foundation has given support to the great organizations listed below:
The Oscar Mike Foundation strives to be a leading provider of funding for injured Veterans to participate in life-changing adaptive sports. 100% of the Foundation’s donations are used to provide support to injured Veterans looking for an opportunity to stay active. They focus on adaptive sports to offer an outlet for an ongoing competitive lifestyle to thousands of American Veterans who have sacrificed for the defense of our country.

Naperville Responds for Veterans and Lake County Responds for Veterans
Naperville Responds for Veterans and Lake County Responds for Veterans are organizations that assist veterans and their families, especially those with low and moderate-income. The organizations raise donations of money, building materials, and professional labor and coordinate the process of repairing, building, and donating homes. The Foundation was proud to not only support these organizations but also to feature them in its Twelve Months of Giving program.

Operation Warrior Wishes’ mission is to honor heroes, keep legacies alive and provide once in a lifetime experiences to warriors from the battlefields to the ballfields. The organization honors veterans with trips to sporting events for their favorite teams. Often the event includes field/court passes, photos with players or some other behind the scenes access.

The Lake County Honor Flight transports veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials that honor their service and sacrifices. The Lake County Honor Flight raises funds so that trips are available to veterans at no cost and operates on a 100% volunteer basis. We were honored to be a part of the 2019 Honor Flight sponsoring the trip for Vietnam veteran Paul Lewis.
Here are some photos from Washington and the local reception welcoming the honorees back home after their trip.

Despite many areas of the country being in some stage of reopening, concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic will undoubtedly tame and reduce crowded celebrations on this Memorial Day. Although we may not have the same community parades, pool parties and neighborhood cookouts that mark this holiday and the unofficial start of summer, we can still whole-heartedly remember and celebrate our brave American heroes that fought for our country’s freedom and unfortunately paid the ultimate price.
From our family to yours, thank you, thank you, thank you!
