If you're looking to buy a new laundry pair or replace an old dryer, you're going to need to know whether you're shopping for gas or electric. The experts at Grand Appliance are here with 2 easy ways you can identify the connection in your home.
1. Check Your Existing Unit
Most units will have a manufacturer sticker near the dryer door. You can find the model number here, and in most cases, the letter E or G will be in the prefix.
A quick google search can confirm.
2. Check the Power Source
If your dryer is connected to a gas line, it's most likely a gas dryer.
If it plugs into a larger 220V electrical outlet, it's an electric dryer.
Note gas dryers will also have a plug, but a smaller, standard 110V plug, familiar with most household electronics.
